Hi guys,
It's me, your Nissi Vardhan! 😊
Introduction#
Let's see how to extract init_boot.img from the PAYLOAD BIN file
There are two ways to obtain the init_boot.img file:
- From the Fastboot ROM file
- From the Recovery ROM file
1. Fastboot ROM#
- It's very simple! You just need to download the Fastboot ROM file from the Xiaomi Official Website or use the unofficial website HyperOS Fans as an alternative.
- After downloading the Fastboot ROM, extract the file. You will find the `init_boot.img` inside, along with other system image files.
2. Recovery ROM#
- Extracting the init_boot.img from the Recovery ROM used to be difficult, but not anymore—everything has become much easier now!
- Unlike the Fastboot ROM, you can't simply extract the Recovery ROM to get the init_boot.img. Instead, you need to use specific tools. However, today I'll share a very simple method to obtain the file.
- There’s an app available on GitHub that makes this process effortless. Just download the APK, install it, and provide the Recovery ROM file link for your current OS version. The app will automatically extract and provide the system files, including init_boot.img.
Here's the APP link: Payload-Dumper-Compose
Another alternative: Payload-Dumper-Android
(You can download Fastboot ROM and Recovery ROM links for all devices from the HyperOS Fans website.)
